ClaimGuard Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 19, 2026
ClaimGuard (“the App”) is developed and operated by Merenda One LLC (“Developer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ClaimGuard mobile application.

The Developer does not have access to, collect, sell, or analyze this information.
Data Stored in Apple CloudKit
ClaimGuard uses Apple CloudKit to store and synchronize your data across your devices.
This may include:
- Inventory items
- Photos of belongings
- Descriptions and notes
- Categories and locations

This data is stored in the user’s private iCloud container and is governed by Apple’s privacy and security policies.

AI Object Recognition Features
Users that subscribe to ClaimGuard Premium Features have access to AI Object Detection and AI Label Scanner features, which analyze images to help identify items.
When these features are used:
- The image selected by the user is be transmitted to an AI service provided by OpenAI for analysis.
- The request is routed through a secure Google Firebase Cloud Functions endpoint operated by the Developer.
- The Firebase function forwards the request to the OpenAI API for image recognition.
- The AI response is returned to the app to assist the user in identifying an object.
These requests are processed only for the purpose of providing the AI features.
Firebase Cloud Functions
ClaimGuard uses Google Firebase Cloud Functions solely as a secure proxy service to relay requests to external AI services.
Firebase Functions are used to:
- Securely store API credentials
- Forward AI analysis requests
- Return responses to the user’s device
The Firebase functions do not store user inventory data or photos beyond the temporary processing required to complete the request.
No persistent storage of user content occurs within Firebase.
OpenAI Processing
When AI recognition is used, images may be transmitted to OpenAI for analysis.
OpenAI processes the image only for the purpose of generating an identification result returned to the user.

ClaimGuard does not maintain user databases.
