Cool Pool is designed to minimize data collection and maximize user privacy.

Merenda One LLC does not directly collect, store, process, or sell your personal data.

  • On-device storage
  • Apple-provided cloud services (CloudKit)
  • Third-party service providers necessary for App functionality

2. Information You Provide

You may voluntarily provide information within the App, including:

  • Pool and spa details (size, type, chemistry readings)
  • Notes and preferences
  • Messages and prompts submitted to Aqua AI
  • Images submitted for analysis

This data is used solely to provide App features and is not directly collected or retained by the Company outside of the services described below.

3. Apple CloudKit (iCloud Sync)

The App uses Apple CloudKit to store and sync your data across your Apple devices.

3.1 How Data Is Stored

  • Data is stored in your personal iCloud account
  • Data is tied to your Apple Account
  • Storage and encryption are managed by Apple

3.2 Developer Access

  • The Company does not directly access or store your identity
  • Data is accessed only as necessary to provide App functionality

4. Aqua AI Feature and AI Processing

The App includes an AI feature (“Aqua AI”) powered by OpenAI.

4.1 Data Transmission

When you use Aqua AI, the following may be transmitted:

  • Text prompts
  • Pool-related data included in prompts
  • Images you upload

This data is required to generate AI responses.

5. Use of Proxy Services (Firebase)

The App uses third-party backend services, including Google Firebase, to securely route (“proxy”) requests between the App and AI providers.

5.1 Purpose of Proxying

Proxy services are used to:

  • Protect API keys and credentials
  • Enforce usage limits and security controls
  • Facilitate communication with AI providers

5.2 Data Handling by Proxy Services

When requests are proxied:

  • Your inputs (text and images) may pass through Firebase servers
  • Requests may be temporarily processed or logged
  • Metadata such as timestamps, request size, and usage patterns may be captured

5.3 Data Retention

  • The Company does not intentionally store user content in Firebase
  • However, third-party services may retain limited logs or data for:
    • Debugging
    • Abuse prevention
    • Service reliability

5.4 Third-Party Privacy

Data processed through Firebase is subject to Google’s privacy policies:

6. AI Provider Data Use

Data sent to OpenAI:

  • Is transmitted for the purpose of generating responses

We do not control how OpenAI processes data. Their practices are governed by:

You should not submit:

  • Sensitive personal information

7. No Direct Data Collection by Developer

Merenda One LLC:

  • Does not store user data on Company-controlled servers
  • Does not sell, rent, or share personal data

Any data processing occurs only through:

  • Your device
  • Apple CloudKit
  • Third-party service providers (e.g., Firebase, OpenAI)

8. Data Security

We rely on third-party providers to maintain security, including:

  • Apple (CloudKit storage and encryption)
  • Google Firebase (secure backend infrastructure)
  • OpenAI (AI processing systems)

While we take reasonable steps to use trusted providers, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

9. Data Retention

  • Data stored in CloudKit remains in your iCloud account until you delete it
  • AI request data may be temporarily retained by third-party providers
  • The Company does not maintain independent long-term storage of user data

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including:

  • Apple CloudKit
  • Google Firebase
  • OpenAI APIs

We are not responsible for:

  • The privacy practices of these services
  • Data handling outside our control

12. Your Choices

You can control your data by:

  • Deleting App data from your device
  • Disabling iCloud sync
  • Avoiding use of Aqua AI
  • Not submitting sensitive information
