DropCode+ (“the App”) is developed and operated by Merenda One LLC (“Developer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the DropCode+ mobile application.

DropCode+ is designed to offer simple barcode and QR code scanning functionality when using websites for data entry. Protecting user privacy is a core principle of the app’s design.

Information We Collect: Nothing

DropCode+ does not collect information from users.

All information you enter into the app is kept on your device and in your device backups. URLs of websites that you visit, information you share with those websites, URLs that you save as favorites, images captured by the camera, values of barcodes and QR codes captured by the app, and data about when and how you use the app is never shared with the developer. Websites that you visit and share information with will have their own privacy policies that govern what data they collect and how they use it.

The Developer does not use the app to collect, sell, or analyze any information.

Image Processing and Analysis

DropCode+ offers a Scan function which uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework to detect and decode barcodes and QR codes from images. The Scan function does not store or share the images you capture. When the Scan button is tapped, a camera preview stream appears, and the Vision framework monitors the camera feed in real time, looking for supported barcode and QR code formats. When a supported code is detected, DropCode+ automatically decodes it and pastes the value into a form field in the webpage you were viewing. As soon as the image is decoded, the camera view closes. The app does not collect, store, or share the image, video of the camera preview stream, metadata from the image or camera preview stream, or the value of the decoded barcode or QR code.
